Addicted to Biking

I began doing a lot of biking this year. I have had a blast!!! I love it! I have lost some weight and look great in spandex. Can you see me?

I announced 4-5 weeks ago that I wanted to do a 50 miler. Well, the time is near. I am getting close to going for it. Either this saturday or during next week.
If something happens to me, may you all enjoy the tools and wood in the garage that Mis can't wait to get rid of :) I love you all

We spent a lot of time with baseball this summer. Both Trey and Colton were on teams. They had a lot of fun.

THE 5K

Mis decided to run a 5k this spring. Here and Amanda trained and the excitement built up for a great race. They had fun! It was cold that morning and so they bundled up. They ended up with their sweatshirts around their waste. They weren't winded at all. THEY WERE AWESOME!!!! Our camera doesn't have sound, but you can see Mis and Amanda coming up the last stretch. I don't think they knew they were being filmed. I am very proud of them!

SENTIMENTAL COUPLE

Ok, so I recently acquired a desk by a window at work. This morning, a movement caught my eye and I watched an employee that I know do something that was very touching. I know, I know this isn't manly to talk about this sort of stuff but..... First of all, "John" is off work quite often due to his wife's health problems (sounds familiar for some reason). He is in his 50's I believe.
Ok, so I see him get out of the car, walk around to the passenger side, help his wife out of the car (she has oxygen tubing hooked up to her nose). He then gives her a big hug and a extra long kiss. He helps her in the driver's seat and reaches in and gives her another kiss. Both are smiling the whole time. You could obviously could see how much love they share. Just too neat! I totally stopped what I was doing, sat back, with a smile on my face and a good feeling in my heart and watched a couple in love, showing simple charity to one another........this is all hard to explain. My thought was: this is how it should be. I know I need to work on this with my wife and my family. Often I forget what is most important-family. Ok, enough mushy stuff, here is a funny cartoon:

Ty's Braces-OFF

Ty got braces sometime in January. He has done well with them. Well, very well indeed since he just got them off this week. He looks really different. He is a big cheesy smiler, as you can tell, hopefully his brothers (or mom) won't knock them out in the future :)

MAPLE TREE

Today was a very exhausting yet wonderful day. I first switched vehicles with my cousing Jeff. He has an awesome Dodge pick-up (Mis gets picky if I call it a truck-its a Burley thing). I drove to the my aunt Merilyn and uncle Bill's home in SLC. I remember it as Grandma and Grandpa Wood's home. I love it! They have kept the home beautiful. The whole neighborhood is georgeous! I was there to get lumber, I know, hard to believe, lumber. Yet this is different. There was a maple tree that was cut down by the city and uncle Bill called to see if I had use for any of the logs. YIPEEEEEE I was in heaven. Bill and I both sustained many hernia's, cuts and bruises getting five logs into the truck (well, maybe just me, hopefully Bill is ok). That is right 5. As you can see from the pictures, they are ginormous! Not to mention, again, this is a maple tree. Very heavy. As I rolled them out of the truck onto the driveway, it felt and sounded like the logs broke the concrete-SERIOUS. As you can see I began to use my newly purchased chainsaw. Can I say now that I wish I would have bought a bigger one. I don't know how the pioneers managed. Probably because I'm a "city boy" and not a "country boy". I had fun none the less and can't wait for the cut pieces to dry. Unfortunately, they must dry before I can make anything, hence the placement up on the top shelf out of the way. I think the pieces cut so far would make and excellent dinner table, but Mis wants me to make a bed for Colton. We will see. Plenty of time to decide. I will keep you "posted".
