FOOD FOOD FABULOUS FOOD

I've been thinking. I know, it's been tough on the old thinker, but after discussions with many of you, I WANT ACTION!!!! Food storage, that great idea that we hear about, worry about, usually don't do anything about. I have devised a master plan. Simple, affordable, fun, and truly heart warming.

The difficulties for me with food storage are: Storage space, rotation/usage, recipes/meals, and cost.

We can overcome these difficulties by following "The plan": Each month, we would do two things: Can a specific food product (or a variety where possible) and then try a recipe or two from our food storage supplies. During these monumental exciting times together, we will discuss many options of storage & usage, share struggles/successes in life, spend less than $30 a month on storage, and dangit! have fun doing it. We can always add family, friends, and neighbors to this "Preparedness Party" (Sunday Circle spin off)

We need each others encouragement and support to accomplish this task. Otherwise.....I will steal all of your food storage from you if there is an emergency :) But seriously, we all know that it needs to be done. Let's feel the way we should feel when council is given instead of squirming in our seats and feeling guilty for our lack of attention to this reality of economic down-turn we face.

Instead of pre-heating the oven, let's get cooking!

Please let me know your thoughts and if you are going to join the KP's in this righteous quest for food storage

To Blog or not to Blog

Mis will soon realize that she better learn how to blog, or she will not have any more friends. I try to be funny, but, WOW, did you see the pic of her intestine on the post before this one??? Anyhow, please encourage her to learn so I won't have to embarass the family name. I mean really.
By the way, did everyone get a sample of our nuts? Mis's sister came back from Scotland with "KP salt & vinegar nuts" They are delicious.
Take care, the season is near, so a special thought for the day:

"DON'T EAT YELLOW SNOW"

PS, I have family and neighbors that need a blogsite :) "Don't make me........"

How do you solve a problem like....Misti

We all love my dear wife very much. I especially do, because I don't know any other husband that can be with her for an extended amount of time, free of charge, see her in bed the entire time, have 24/7 non-stop care, no kids, eat out or in, new nightgown on request, room service, and drugs on demand. Can life get any better? I THINK NOT!

She is a remarkable person no matter what they said or what Mis thinks they said while high on morphine. She is one hotty that likes to go to the potty. That was the problem, actually, she had some issues with her "intestinal friends". She had an extreme issue with "pouchitis". This isn't a fear of being near a pouch or anything like that, but an infection in her "pouch". It was made from some small intestine they had lying around after her surgery a number of years ago. At first they thought it was a parasite:

But it ended up being just infected. Really swollen. Her sister eating Haggis in Scotland came to mind:

She is all better now, thank goodness! Good old anti-bacteria medicine took care of it. She is alive and well. The song from "The Sound of Music" came to mind, but she is a problem totally worth having in our lives. Not even a problem at all, a blessing. Please pray for her, that her bowels may be clean and pure, that her loins may be girded up (especially with the hospital gowns...not very lady like), and may all of her good bacteria cease to be idle but be doing good, may she scope her future with dignity and in the end....well, may she always be with us. We love you Mis/Mom

To Hatch or not to Hatch

It is a sad time for 400 south. We are losing a wonderful family to Indiana. Dang Comcast! Bret, Amanda, Jane, Tobe, and Ali will be missed A LOT! We were blessed with their presence for a 18 months. We love and will miss them very much.

"Old man Hatch"

"Little mamma"

"Janey bug"

"The bear"

"Ali...." not sure on her nickname.

The kids are the "Littleturds" as Amanda would put it. But here are the bigger turds:

Trey-8 & Baptized

Trey is Eight. He is loving it too.

What is that saying? "It's my party and I can cry if I want to"? Trey's version is "...I'll make you cry, not me" :}

He gets cake and-believe it or not-eats it too.

Baptism pics are coming in the near future. We had a wonderful day, great friends, family, delicious ham--(actually....no It was a bad on my part forgot to put the ham in the oven), great KFC, presents (scooter, treats, $$) etc etc

Alex made a new friend too!

***I can't not say it, Sister Lund is the bestest Primary President and Pre-heater in the world!!!!!!!

Baptism Time

Trey will be baptized this saturday. We are excited to keep him under water....I mean cleanse him really well.....I mean teach him a good lesson.......I really mean to be apart of this wonderful day of his decision to follow our saviour and be baptized and receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost.
We love Trey very much,BUT,he is quite the handful. He is stubborn like his mother. What else can I say. I don't know how to explain it, but a picture says a thousand words:

Does that smirk mean trouble or what. I have to admit though, he does have his sweet side, but that moment happened long ago.
We have an addition for while. Mackay is hanging out with us while his parents travel to Scotland. We are hoping his mischievous side won't rub off on us.
